A small bowl of plain oats made with water. Warm, bland, and comforting. A few spoonfuls is enough.
Make it thinner (more water) if thick textures feel heavy. A tiny pinch of salt makes it more palatable than sugar on nausea days.
Serves 1 · 1 min prep · 2 min cook
Put 30g of porridge oats into a bowl with 100ml of water.
Microwave for 90 seconds, stir, then microwave for 30 more seconds.
~2 min
Let it cool slightly and eat a few spoonfuls at a time.

This is deliberately a small portion — about half a normal serving. On bad days, less is more.
Use certified gluten-free oats if coeliac. Rice porridge (congee) with water is another gentle alternative.
