Warm miso broth with cubes of silken tofu and a sprinkle of green onion — gentle umami comfort.
Miso is naturally probiotic and can help settle your stomach. The warm salty broth is soothing on difficult days.
Serves 1 · 3 min prep · 7 min cook
Heat 1.5 cups (350ml) water in a saucepan until hot but not boiling.
~4 min
Dissolve 2 tablespoons white miso paste into the water, stirring until smooth.
Gently cube 200g silken tofu and slide into the soup. Heat for 2 minutes without boiling.
~2 min
Top with sliced green onion. Sip slowly.
Use gluten-free miso paste (chickpea-based) for gluten-free version.
Do not boil the miso — it kills the beneficial probiotics and turns bitter. Silken tofu gives more protein than you would expect.
