A warm, fudgy single-serve chocolate cake made in a mug with protein powder. Ready in 5 minutes and satisfies sweet cravings while hitting protein goals.
Sweet cravings are real in Phase 2, and this beats reaching for something with no protein. Think of it as dessert that works for you, not against you.
Serves 1 · 3 min prep · 2 min cook
In a microwave-safe mug, mix together 1 scoop (25g) chocolate protein powder, 1 tbsp cocoa powder, 2 tbsp almond flour (14g), 1/2 tsp baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
~1 min
Add 1 large egg and 3 tbsp milk. Stir well with a fork until smooth and no dry pockets remain.
Use oat flour instead of almond flour (not GF). Use any milk — oat milk works well. Top with a small scoop of Greek yogurt for extra protein and creaminess.
~1 min
Microwave on high for 60-90 seconds. The cake should be set on top but still slightly moist in the centre.
~1 min
Let it cool for 1-2 minutes (it will be very hot). Eat directly from the mug or turn out onto a plate.
~2 min
Do NOT overcook — 90 seconds max. It should look slightly underdone when you take it out. It continues cooking from residual heat. Overcooked = dry and rubbery.
